Pamela Jane Crook artist

#PamelaJaneCrook is better known as PJ Crook (b. 1945). She is a British painter and sculptor who resides in Cheltenham. From her studio, she creates many of  her works in oils, acrylics, and gesso. Often portraying crowds in an urban setting in which they are all doing the same activity (ie. reading newspapers). Her works range in size from small 5″ by 5″ (10cm x 10cm) to extremely large 4′ by 8′ (2m x 2.4m). One of Ms Crooks’ peculiarities is that she often continues her painting to the outer edge of the frame itself, giving a 3D effect to the work.

I added a small ink drawing to my collection this past week. It shows a young girl rapt by the book she is reading. A lovely depiction of what can happen to all of us when we read.
